Weinstöckl

The Weinstöckl is Salzburg's oldest Weinheuriger with probably the most beautiful garden in Salzburg. Here, the traditional wine tavern culture is revived with Austrian wines and with home-made and regional dishes.

The first Weinheurige Salzburg!

The Weinstöckl is located in a converted at the turn of the century to the 20th century estate, which had since 1904 a bar license for beer. In the 50s and 60s the tavern was called "Zum alten Fuchs". In 1971 the restaurant was adapted by Eleonore Ostwalt as the first Salzburg city heuriger. At the beginning of the 21st century, Weinstöckl was operated by Bachmann-Buam in 2003. Since 1 October 2017, Hans Fritzenwallner - an excellent sommelier and master butcher from Köstendorf - is the new host of the Weinstöckl.
