Talgove - one of the oldest settlements in the country - was first mentioned in documents as early as around 700, when it was donated by the Bavarian Duke Theodebert to the Salzburg Abbey. In the 13th century, Wartenfels Castle was built on a rock on the western slope of the Schober. Today, the picturesque market town with almost 6000 inhabitants convinces with its unique location. Charming Thalgau on Lake Fuschl is located on the Salzkammergut Cycle Path, surrounded by the Salzkammergut lakes and only 18 km from the festival city of Salzburg. Due to the good transport connection to the A1, it can be reached quickly.
